(minor spoilers) having a lot of fun so far! other than occasional bugs the only complaint i have off the top of my head is that the camera makes some platforming/out of battle sections very difficult. the golden goose fight was where i really felt this, i couldn't get a good grasp on where anything was coming from unfortunately. maybe it's meant to be that way but in my opinion it doesn't really feel "fair"
Despite some hiccups and jank, I thoroughly enjoyed my first two runs of this game. I will say that the difficulty curve can be a bit inconsistent if you get particularly lucky, but I think that can be smoothed out in the future. Basic cog fights also tend to run about on the monotonous side, so more variance in their abilities would be quite fun. Additionally, I would appreciate a means to see your gag levels outside of fights (a hotkey akin to what's in the original Toontown would suffice).
Otherwise, incredible! This is easily my favorite iteration of Toontown. :)
I won on my first run! Amazingly fun, If there's updates planned for this game I'm excited to see how it's expanded upon.
Really impressed with the talent in the toontown community as a whole and it makes me so happy to see it continue to get so much love 12 years after the game shut down :)
- PS there were so many buffs and debuffs applied to the boss I couldn't click on the level 2/3 squirt, just a small UI bug that didn't matter but yah other than that not much I could find buggy for me anyway.
really cool game! really can't say enough good things about it :)
just want to let you know it just uses 10x more CPU power on startup than when the game is running, and it causes a lot of crashes. my friend with a worse computer is having the same problem and can't even get in to play :(
really impressive how you recreated a lot of toontown in godot though! thank you for this game :D
I'm not 100% if this is going to surprise you or not but this game is pretty bugged, The movement is janky and in the D.A office the spotlights have a broken hitbox / range that caused me to go sad. the puzzles also don't state what they are so I'm out here fighting virtual skelecogs pretty much every puzzle I have to go across, and with 2+ laff that's pretty damn hard. Also I wanna add then when I went sad I lost all 54 laff I had built up, when I respawned I had 30 laff similar to when I started. I'm not 100% if this is a game feature or a glitch, but if It's a game feature then It's a pretty damn bad one.
Also there doesn't seem to be an autosave feature, I closed the game and lost my progress with the character.
Personal opinions aside and glitches the game has a good soundtrack, the textures on the cogs are polished and clear. the bosses look neat and pretty unique and the layout is nice.
Hey just a small feedback I don't know if it was meant to be like that but the google make it so have just 10 seconds to choose your gags instead of adding that 10 seconds.
Looks cool! Can't wait to try it out when it drops. I'm a little perplexed though; the trailer says Godot engine. Did you rebuild a lot of mechanics from scratch for this? Also would be interesting if it was multiplayer but I know netcode is a huge undertaking and would still be interested to play it solo.
I did recreate a lot of mechanics as closely to the original game as I could in the new engine. As for multiplayer, unfortunately, I don't intend on including it in the game. It would pretty much require a complete rewrite of the entire game to be networked properly. I do plan to make the project open source, though. So if any particular developer wants to try their hand at adapting it into an online game, I would strongly encourage it.

Thank you for putting in an incredible amount of time and effort into this. I'm hooked. Any way to support?

all that aside great work on the game!
agreed heavily the golden goose fight is really wack. the rest of the game is great though and id love to see more content for it eventually
Excellent stuff!

this game doesn't support OpenGL devices, it crashes everytime i open it. i'm pretty sure there's a way to fix it
Creating an item guide for this game, check it. Info in the doc for adding items that I don't have up on it yet.

Can you add a bar to change the sensitivity?
Also, does this game have a discord server?

losing progress when dying is probably a feature, it is a roguelite/roguelike after all
Massive L then.
thats like 50% of the point of a roguelike game LOL
massive l my butt
